Urban Jazz Coalition on MySpace!

Urban Jazz Coalition’s brand new CD Down To Get Up, is an outstanding album by one of the hottest groups to emerge on the contemporary jazz scene in some time.

The single is a reflection of the entire project, which is chock full of rhythmic gems, seamless interplay between horn and rhythm sections, and undeniably head-bobbing grooves!

Material from the new CD has already been road-tested and is receiving a resounding response from music lovers across the country during the band’s 2006 Tour. Thousands of smooth jazz fans, coast-to-coast, have grooved to UJC’s high-energy sound, which has been called “a unique blend of jazz textures and fiery funk” by JAZZIZ Magazine.

“Urban Jazz Coalition has been creating a stir all over the country…it’s the freshness of their sound…like an early Spyro Gyra” says Mark Carter of WSBZ and promoter of The Seabreeze Jazz Festival.

“Not only are they absolutely fantastic and fun to work with, the musicianship is superb…they're a 10 on the crowd-pleasing scale!” quotes Tom Carroll, Clear Channel Radio Events Manager.

Down To Get Up continues to chronicle the evolution of UJC’s own unique musical style, and pays homage to the original pioneers of the contemporary jazz format.

This project will not disappoint, as the powerful 7-piece ensemble covers the musical spectrum with a melodic mix of smooth jazz, old-school grooves, romantic ballads, Carribean rhythms, and a special guest appearance by jazz superstar NILS.

This is the group and the album that fans have been waiting for.
Urban Jazz Coalition is Down To Get Up…and they’ve never been better!!!
